This position interacts with Service Advisors, Service Technicians, Customers, Parts Associates and Sales staff.
Service Technician Responsibilities:
- Diagnose cause of any vehicle malfunction and perform repair
- Complete work as assigned on repair orders to factory and dealership standards in a timely fashion.
- Document all work performed
- Communicate with Parts Department to obtain needed parts
- Communicate with Service Advisors and advisors as to the progress and status of each repair.
- Inspect vehicles to determine if any additional safety or service repairs are needed
- Road test customer vehicles as needed
- Maintain and keep up to date with all training and certifications
- Understand and follow all state and federal regulations and safety protocols
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an automotive technician
- Automotive technical training (varies based on store needs)
- Team player with good work ethic
- Attention to detail
- Organizational and follow-up skills
- Valid, clean NYS driver's license
- Valid NYS Inspectors' license
- Own tools
